  • Nisyros leads the list of the best Greek islands according to National Geographic

    1. Nisyros: Walk on a volcano According to Greek mythology, it was Poseidon who seized a chunk of Kos and hurled it on top of a fiery Titan called Polyvotis — creating the volcanic island of Nisyros, with its enormous, sulphurous caldera. The volcano is active, but travellers can still walk across its warm crust — it last erupted in 1888 and is carefully monitored. It can be visited on a day trip from nearby Kos, but it’s worth sticking around to explore the island’s little capital, Mandraki, with its colourful houses and Byzantine churches; the nearby thermal spring at Loutra; and the lofty village of Emporios, with its ruined Byzantine castle, natural cave sauna and mesmerising views over the caldera. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/travel/article/best-greek-islands-visit-this-year

  • PADI ECO CENTER - GREEN FINS

At the 22th of April Volcano Bubbles Diving School became the first PADI Eco Center in the Mediteranean and the only one in this area until this lines are written. We hope of course more are going to follow. PADI Eco Center is the new designation for dive centers that are taking extra steps for the environment, the premier choice for all divers, adventurers and travel experts seeking ocean-first, marine conscious operators that place sustainability at the top of their agenda. Volcano Bubbles Diving School is also a Green Fins digital member. Green Fins is a proven conservation management approach – implemented internationally by The Reef-World Foundation and the UN Environment Programme – which leads to a measurable reduction in the negative environmental impacts associated with marine tourism. It aims to protect coral reefs through environmentally friendly guidelines promoting sustainable diving and snorkelling. It provides the only internationally recognised environmental standards for marine tourism and its robust assessment system measures compliance. #PADIECOCENTER #GREENFINS #VOLCANOBUBBLES www.volcanobubbles.gr
